Sharon and Adam St Thomas

Written By: Ashley - Nov• 13•11

I believe the song “Knee Deep” would be a perfect song to describe Adam and Sharon’s wedding.  It was as relaxed, carefree, and beautiful as anyone would dream of their island wedding.  They had close family and friends join them as they said their vows on Emerald Beach St Thomas, and then they headed back to “Island View” Guest House which over looks downtown Charlotte Amalie for their dinner and celebration.   Sharon looked stunning in her wedding dress, and you couldn’t help look at Adam the way he looks at her.

Villa Kaleidescope – St. John – Friends Visit the Islands

Written By: Ashley - Nov• 12•11

Villa Kaleidoscope is an amazing villa my friends Susan and Tadzu stayed at last week for their 10th Anniversary.  Love these guys.  I met them 6 years ago on Scubadu, and have been great friends since then.

Villa Kaleidoscope has four bedrooms detached from the villa.  Two rooms are on one side and two rooms are on the other side.  Perfect for two families, couples, or friends.   You can always find privacy, but the great room is perfect for entertaining.   There is a great breeze with an pool side bar, and surround sound throughout the villa, which you can adjust the volume for every speaker.  Above the bar there’s a lookout area that would be perfect for an intimate wedding.    The photo opportunities are endless for both families and weddings.    To enter the neighborhood, you must go through a gate, and then the house itself has a gate.  Not that theft is an issue on St. John, but the extra security gives this villa more warm fuzzies.    At this time, there’s only a house below the villa, which you really can’t see or hear, and there’s a villa that they are building at the end of the point.      Villa Kaleidoscope is located only moments away from Cruz Bay and 20 minute drive from Coral Bay.   There is a private beach in the neighborhood, not your typical white sandy beach on St. John, but it’s none of the less beautiful.  From what I have heard the owners are extremely friendly, and their villa manager Justin is great.  Only rave reviews in the guest book.   This is a great villa for entertaining a small group of 30, however you may want to check with Justin how many people they can accommodate for a party.

Definitely check out their website…  https://www.kaleidoscopeusvi.com/.

Below are photos I captured with my IPhone.  Not really the camera of choice, and was killing myself when I saw this villa.

The above photos were photographed during the day.

Can it get better than this?  When asked if the view ever gets old, or taken for granted, absolutely not.  There’s not a day, even when it rains, that I’m thankful for the beauty mother nature gives us.

I didn’t take the whole day off… I did work while I was there.  I had a couple of emails and orders I needed to do, so I took my Mac Book Pro…  This was my view.

Steve Jobs 1955-2011

Written By: Ashley - Oct• 06•11

“Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being.  Those of us who have been forunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor.  Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”

As many of you know, I rely a lot not only my Canon professional camera bodies and lenses to capture timeless moments, but Apple to assist me in post production and business.   I remember in elementary school him introducing apple products to my generation.  Does anyone remember the first product?

RIP – Steve Jobs

St Thomas Photographer / Bolongo Beach Resort / Carrie and Chris

Written By: Ashley - Sep• 13•11

On the southside of St Thomas, Virgin Islands, is a gorgeous ocean view at the Bolongo Beach Resort where beautiful people like Carrie and Chris get married.  It’s the perfect island setting right on the beach looking into the beautiful blue Caribbean water and then Bolongo’s own Lobster Grill for their reception.   It was a perfect intimate island setting for Carrie and Chris to share with the family and friends, whom most traveled from Chicago.

Before their ceremony, Carrie and Chris wanted to exchange gifts to one another and have a First Glance.  It was perfect.  Chris waited by a secluded area off the beaten path as Carrie approached him with his back turned.  He turned around to see his beautiful wife to be.

The ceremony was coordinated by Lorie, Bolongo’s  (amazing) coordinator who kept the whole night moving flawless.  You Rock Lorie!!  Stuart Scott as their officiant, was right there with them laughing and encouraging the laughter during their ceremony.   The Wedding cake and the Groom’s cake was more like a piece of art.   The detail of the stitching in the football was impeccable.    Eric Snow aka DJ Snow one of the best DJ’s on the island, mixed some great music for the wedding party and everyone danced!   Great energy!   Definitely a beautiful island dream wedding.

The energy between the couple and their friends was contagious.  After the reception was done, they danced their way to Iggies Beach Bar, Bolongo’s Beach Bar, where I joined them for a dance or two myself.

Carrie and Chris, this is a day you’ll remember for the rest of your life, and was honored to have been part of one of the most cherished days of your lives.   Cheers!!

Much Love,
Ashley
